In 2016 WID-GLAC honored Brenda Threatt, Executive Director of U.S. VETS- Long Beach for her service to our military at our annual White Party. In her acceptance speech, Brenda shared with our chapter the challenges that are faced by homeless women veterans in Los Angeles. WID-GLAC has committed to partnering with the U.S. Veterans Initiative and their Advance Women Program to help in as many ways as we can. The "Call to Care" initiative was formed to raise money for our women veterans to purchase undergarments. Funds donated will help recipients purchase needed and size appropriate undergarments upon intake at the Long Beach facility.
